According to Gas Buddy, the average price of gasoline in Michigan has swung from a low of $ 3.41 per gallon at the beginning of July to a high of $3.92 per gallon on July 16, 2013. Currently, the average price has dropped again to $3.76 per gallon. Michigan's drivers are stuck on a roller coaster when it comes to filling up at the pump.
Also, it depends on where you live in the state that determines what you are paying for fuel. Today (July 23) the cheapest gas at $3.33 per gallon is in Lambertville and Dearborn, Fraser, Roseville and Fraser stations are selling it at $3.49 per gallon. In the Kalamazoo area, prices range from $3.64 to $3.88 per gallon. Happy shopping!
I wonder if this instability in fuel prices can be good for Michigan's economy. Consumers are being forced to burn gasoline just to find savings at the pump. Others are having to pay more for being loyal to their neighborhood station. It doesn't seem right that their is a difference of $0.55 in the price from one side of the state to the other. Isn't time we get off this roller coaster ride?
