Tying to break into a second career is not easy.  Its a bit scary. Especially if that career is as a freelance writer. That is the path I am beginning to trek. Until now, I have only dabble a bit as a web content writer for Yahoo Contributors Network and Examiner.com. Now I'm blowing the dust off my Bachelor of Arts in English degree, rolling up my sleeves and diving head first into a new opportunity.

Life tends to take some interesting turns.  Many times I thought I found the job from which I'd retire, only to have it fall apart. Now I'm too old or too experienced to get back into my old profession. I have gotten too many " We're sorry but..." emails from possible employers. Message: It is not going to happen.

The path of writer beckons. I'm taking the first few steps ahead.
